The NEW Look

I’m still me!

It’s been a while since I’ve been in touch–I hope you’ll forgive me!  I’ve been chipping away at this re-branding while working with new clients, teaching workshops and traveling for speaking engagements.  All in all, the past few months flew by like a whirlwind.

I’d like to take a moment to recognize a few of the experts who really helped me through the transition from Millionaire Moms Media to Edie McRae.com Why?  Simply because they are amazing to work with and are great resources for you.

1.  Siva of iTVibes, my Web-Development specialist.  Siva can make things work that seem impossible.  I know enough to be dangerous (just ask him) and rather than spend months trying to figure out something on my own, I chose to work with an expert in this area.  And if you’ve ever tried to move a Google Friend connect widget to a NEW site, you’ll understand why his skills are so invaluable.

2.  Jennifer Lee of J.Lee Creative for designing my kick-butt new logo.  She really took the time to get to know what I was about.  She kept my “feminine” side and yet helped me to display my “edgy” side too.

3.  My media partner, Lori Carrese of Woodlands Media Solutions.  She’s been a gem by connecting me to the right media and marketing professionals  to help complete this process.  Her advice and experience have been invaluable to me.

4.  YOU! I want to thank all of you for hanging in there during my blogging hiatus and pardoning my progress.

I want to let you know that you can still count on me to continue to share all things related to social media, business, networking and the balancing act of motherhood.

In 2010, I will be having cross-blog conversations with industry experts, participating in popular blog meme’s and more.

I’d be honored if you hang around and get the RSS feed to keep up-to-date with all the social media news and trends.  (RSS is a way to have my blog updates delivered to your email or in a feed reader of your choice.)

I’d love to connect on Facebook as well.  I’ve got a slammin’ new fan page and would love to interact with you there too.  In fact, I’m going to answer questions asked on my fan page in depth on the blog…for FREE! So, if you’ve got a burning question, you’ll want to post it on the wall of the fan page. Each week, I’ll select one question for a blog feature.  And if you have a blog or website of your own, you can count on a link from me from the blog post!  ;-)

As my way of saying “Thank You” for hanging in there with me, I’m offering a FREE “15 minute Social Media Assessment” consult to help you get off to a GREAT start for 2010.

CLICK HERE to take the assessment and then send me an email or give me a call to schedule a time for a chat.

Much Love and Moxie!

Catering to Cowards?

back

For several years now, I’ve suffered terribly from back, neck and shoulder pain due to fibromyalgia and lupus.  Each year, the doctors try to stuff more and more pills down me but nothing really helps.  In fact, I’ve described myself as the oldest 33 year old in the world because I feel like a young woman trapped in an old body! Is there a ROCK STAR in You?

rsu-alyandrea-240x300Some dear friends of mine, Aly Calvo and Andrea Kulberg, featured me recently on their blog Rock Star U.  I am honored to have been chosen as a ROCK STAR and feel so blessed to have women like these in my circle of influence.

Because I am committed to their mission “to touch a gazillion lives and make a difference in each definition of personal success”, I wanted to invite you to read THEIR story in their own words. Read more

'Fess Up Friday…with a TWIST!

Ok…so we ALL make mistakes, have little slip-ups, etc. that weigh heavily on us from time to time.  For those of you who know me well–I know it’s hard to believe that I’m not PERFECT, but please try. LOL. Read more

CBC Continuation: Finding TIME for SM (Social Media)

balancing_time_335805I’m still chatting with Jamie from Profitable Mommy Blogging.  In her last post, Jamie asked:

How do YOU keep twitter from being a disctraction? Or, just social networking in general? We know it’s important to grow our business, but how much is too much?

Great questions!  One of the first things I figured out when I became a work-at-home-mom (WAHM) almost 7 years ago was that I really needed to manage my time well in order to get things done.  Back then, the whole social media game was really just beginning–it didn’t even have that COOL title! The “action” at that time was on message boards and in chat rooms.  Talk about getting lost in a back whole! lol… Read more

Cross Blog Conversation (CBC) with Profitable Mommy Blogging

mommybloggerI’m so excited to let you know that I’ve been engaged in a cross blog conversation.

What is THAT, you ask?  Well, it’s when two bloggers converse back and forth, each from their own blog.  So, my readers, you’ll get a chance to follow my conversation (and follow another FAB blog!) with Jamie of Profitable Mommy Blogging.

Jamie started the conversation off with the following:

So, Edie-My question for you is this:

I noticed you have a mix of both pleasure and business on your blog. Occaosinally you mention a proud mommy moment, but mostly you talk about the things that matter to those momies out there wanting to make cash with their blogs. How do you decide your balance for those sorts of posts? Do you have a system, or do you just sort of go for it? Read more

The Multitasking Myth

multitasking_run_amok_lg1There’s a television show called Myth Busters where a team of scientists take commonly held myths and determine if they can be BUSTED–or proven false.  Recently, I had a little case of my own.

A friend of mine, Steve Scott,  shared a powerful message at a networking meeting a few weeks ago and I wanted to share it and the impact it has had on me in hopes that it may do the same for you.

For years, I’ve lived with a fallacy that multitasking means that one is highly productive because of the ability to perform many things at once.  If the truth be told, I’ve also held the belief that women are innately superior in this area.  Let me see if any of this sounds familiar to you… Read more
